International Women's Day 2019

On the 8th of March 2019, Youth Enrichment Society (YES) celebrated International Women’s Day (IWD) at Budapest Business School (BBS). The special guests of honour at this student-driven event included Her Excellency Mrs. Samia Ilhem Ammar, Ambassador of Tunisia in Hungary, Dr. Szegedi Kristina, Vice Rector at BBS, and Dr. Szabó Zoltán, Director of International Affairs at BBS.

It was a fantastic event that took place in an intimate setting, where students joined in on a very meaningful conversation on gender equality. Our special guests shared their opinions, offered advice and they also gave the audience some insight into their personal journeys. This was achieved whilst recognising the contributions of women as something that is essential to realising true equality and respect in our homes, our workplaces and throughout our society as a whole.

Her Excellency, Mrs. Ammar, also took a moment to address the audience by saying a few words about the accomplishments of women in Tunisia and the progress made in terms of gender equality.

It was indeed a successful YES event and the interest and eagerness to learn was clearly visible on students’ faces.
